I really enjoy working with square imagery. I had originally worked extensively with squares to create my Master's exhibition in 1980. Lately, I've been drawn to return back to this fascinating, powerful and eternal symbol. I painted with acrylic paints in soft color tints on paper. I used fanciful curves over the squares to give the squares a sense of mischief and also a sense of shallow space. I think the square shape has a powerful presence, but I wanted to soften its impact by using these less than perfect shaped squares.
